        Verdict

        RISING KHELEYF is selected here although sustained market moves for either of Liberty Trail or Red China Blues might cause a switch of allegiance. A mark of 70 for the selection may now be high enough but Alan Swinbank's gelding has been holding his form well since going handicapping. His two best runs this season have come on quick ground like we have today and sticking at seven furlongs looks like the right move. Liberty Trail has been off for 253 days but Ian Semple may have him primed for a big run on his first start this season and he needs watching, as does handicap newcomer Red China Blues who has shown promise on three qualifying runs to date; the drop in trip might suit. Island Chief needs to bounce back to form, whilst Diamond Daisy has been hitting the woodwork of late and the feeling is that we may see another repeat performance today. At a price Sardan Dansar may bely expectations, but it is top-weight Rising Kheleyf who is nominated.
