In depth

Verdict

COMPTON FORD is taken to get the better of Pinball and Dispol Grand here in this final contest. Michael Dods' runner has to carry top-weight here after a series of consistently good efforts at Catterick in April and here last time. It may be that he is in the grip of the handicapper but we will give him another chance to show that he has more improvement to come and he can gain his second course win. Pinball is another consistent charge who has been rejuvenated by the application of the visor two runs back; whilst Karl Burke will hope that the same headgear has a similar effect on Iachimo. Dispol Grand has been holding his form well since a win here in August but he is starting to prove frustrating to follow and supporters will need to have had deep pockets if they are to go in again. A move for Secret Venue might look significant; however it is Compton Ford who is tentatively selected to score.
