Verdict
Yet another maiden on the eight-race card, and the pick is Tyzack to prove too strong for Anousa and Downing Street. Tyzack is on a retrieval mission after leaving the money in the bookies¿ satchels at Haydock, beating only one home in that six-furlong contest. He was sent off favourite on the strength of an encouraging debut at Ayr where he went down narrowly to the odds-on Chester Le Street. That debut run was over seven furlongs, so it was a surprise to see him dropped back in trip last time, although to be fair he did show some speed that obviously influenced his trainer¿s decision. The move up to a mile should see him put matters right in what is not a strong contest on paper. Anousa was a promising second on his Newmarket introduction but finished stone last on a return to headquarters and is best watched. He is a half-brother to Prince Nuryev and should improve as time goes on. Downing Street shaped well on his Sandown debut and being a son of Sadler¿s Wells, will fare better when upped in trip, while Mr Independent, who is not as stoutly-bred, ran as green as grass at Ayr and can only get better. On this occasion it is best to forgive Tyzack his latest run and support him to make amends.
