Verdict
Escayola is on a roll at present and should be supported to complete a four-timer at the expense of Lucindi and The Ring. William Haggas has placed Escayola to good effect of late, the three-year-old scoring at Chepstow, Yarmouth and Ayr, thanks to being stepped up to two miles. That was thanks to Richard Hills, who suggested the idea after jumping off him at Newmarket earlier. A visor and blinkers have helped matters as well, the latter aid instrumental in him lowering the colours of prolific Misternando at Ayr 12 days ago. A small rise in the weights should not stop him from going close again. The owners see him as a future hurdler, but in the meantime he can still pay to follow on the level. The Ring tries the trip for the first time, and on breeding cannot be guaranteed to stay, but has been running on at the one pace in his races lately so is a candidate for the frame. Lucindi will need a strong gallop if she is to make any impression here, and is another who looks destined for a career over hurdles, while Snow¿s Ride has to overcome the burden of topweight. Escayola is the form-horse and can prove so here.
