Verdict
Ayr Gold Cup hero Continent is on the upgrade and has been unfortunate to bump in to the smart Reel Buddy on his last two starts. David Nicholls' charge has a good sprint in him but may find the drop down to the minimum trip against him on this occasion. Jessica's Dream ended last season in some style and may be capable of further progress while Smokin Beau confirmed he was up to this class with a smooth success on his return at Nottingham. Bahamian Pirate needs cut and has to concede weight all round but The Trader and Newbury winner Kyllachy come in to the reckoning in an open event. Marginal preference is for Mariinsky who was a smart sprint juvenile and appears to have gone the right way over the winter with an impressive all the way Listed win at Haydock last month. There should be more to come from Brian Meehan's charge who gets the each-way vote from a favourable draw.
