Verdict
A fascinating renewal of the first colts' Classic with Aidan O'Brien bringing a four-strong raiding party form his Ballydoyle base headed by Hawk Wing who can justify favouritism and give the yard their second victory in the prestigious one-mile event after King Of Kings in 1998. Hawk Wing has already proved himself a high-class performer having won three of his four starts as a juvenile including an impressive victory in the National Stakes (Naheef held) in which he broke the track record. This fine strapping individual will appreciate a strongly-run mile at this stage of his career and his excellent turn of foot will make him hard to beat. Sir Michael Stoute is on a hat-trick after the wins of King's Best and Golan in the last two years and King Of Happiness stamped his claims with a most authoritative Craven victory over O'Brien's Della Francesca. The outing will have put him spot on but he faces a higher calibre of opponent here in the favourite while Love Regardless has plenty to prove having won a Newcastle maiden (albeit in good style) on his sole start to date. Godolphin's trio don't look good enough but both Rock Of Gibraltar and Tendulkar, closely matched when first and third repectively in the Dewhurst, are both capable of bustling up their better fancied stablemate in a real thriller.
