    Verdict

John Dunlop's Chianti comes in to the race in good form having been just touched off by Border Arrow at Kempton last month and he can exploit a fitness advantage over his rivals with race conditions in his favour. Desert Deer is held in high regard by his yard which took this event twelve months ago and more can be expected from this bold front runner this season having had just four previous starts but Island Sound is unpredictable and Travelmate needs further. Blue Baloo is an interesting raider from Germany but his best form has come on a much softer surface and he has been off the track for over a year.
