Verdict

John Jenkins has aimed high with Imtalkinggiberish and the Pursuit Of Love colt has performed with enough credit to earn him the vote of confidence over Farewell Gift and Rachel's Verdict, who make the most appeal out of the rest. However, Bird Key - a half-sister to the useful Selective - would not need to be anything special to get involved in a scrap for the places and is worth monitoring for signs of each-way support. Tropical Storm came up against some decent types in both his starts as a juvenile and, as he was only a half length adrift of Farewell Gift when they met at Kempton earlier this term, he too will be dangerous to ignore. The firmer ground will help his cause today and it is not a farfetched assumption for him to bounce back here. Rachel's Verdict showed plenty of potential on her only start to date and does her bit to make this an intriguing little contest. Nevertheless, she was very green in the early stages and that could be her undoing over a trip that may prove to be slightly short of her optimum. Therefore, we turn to the experience of Imtalkinggiberish, who had some very classy performers in behind him when he finished a respectable eighth in the Jersey Stakes when he was last seen out. This is obviously a more realistic target for Imtalkinggiberish, who has every chance of getting off the mark today.
