Verdict

Shamshon won this off a higher mark back in 2017 and has scored at Brighton this year while Tropics saves his best for the all-weather nowadays and can race off a lower mark here after winning at Chelmsford. He’s closely matched with Lord Riddiford on earlier form and the latter was beaten in a tougher sprint than this at the Curragh recently when finishing ahead of Saaheq but just behind fourth-placed ORVAR. Paul Midgley’s charge is now back on the same mark as when landing a handicap at Doncaster last year and may come out best in this. Savalas could return to form with Ryan Moore on board and this return to 5f should suit Mountain Peak.
