There are some interesting lightly-raced horses on show here, and the betting could prove a reliable guide, but we just take John Gosden's Shoot to score at the second time of asking, and she is just preferred to Authority and Khabir. The selection, a daughter of Barathea out of a mare by Warning, is open to improvement on her debut second at Goodwood and conditions will suit here, particularly this stiffer track. Willie Haggas' stable is starting to hit form and Authority shaped well on his debut over this course and distance. The yard's three-year-olds have a good strike rate second time out, and he has to be feared. Khabir's juvenile form is the strongest on offer here, but Ben Hanbury's colt has had plenty of chances and is vulnerable to a lightly raced sort. Mawaani showed some promise on her debut at Beverley, but not as much as Shoot, and she gets the vote.
