In depth

Verdict

Plenty of numbers but not any depth about this race and a confident vote is offered to Mullady Penelope ahead of Good Companion and Discotheque. Ann Duffield's charge was a very easy winner at Brighton and while she did not look to appreciate the track, there was enough there to suggest that there was another win in the offing. A low draw is going to be difficult to overcome but she is capable of being ridden handily. Good Companion has proved difficult to win with but there was money ahead of a recent second at Windsor. Proven on the surface, he is capable of running up to his usual form. Discotheque is better than his most recent run at Catterick suggests although he is on something of a losing run since leaving the yard of Brian Meehan. Inchduaig is dropped in trip having contested maidens over a mile. Butterfly Bud has a solid draw and is still potentially open to improvement. Not a strong race in terms of form and we take Mullady Penelope to overcome a modest draw.
