In depth

Verdict

Lord Who is the pick ahead of Batchelor Boys, Alpine Warrior and course specialist Kid 'z' play to name but a few. Lord Who had plenty of winning form when trained in Ireland, but in truth was rather lucky to open his account on these shores when successful at Ayr in March. He was handed the race on a plate two out, but at least got round. He showed plenty of stamina when second here last time, and as the third horse was over 20-lengths away, the form is not too bad. The fact that he drops back dramatically in trip here should not put anyone off, and he is the pick. The selection's rider has partnered Batchelor Boys on that one's last two outings, and this ex-Irish gelding now has the assistance of Rose Davidson. He may be staying on at the finish, and a bigger threat may turn out to be Alpine Warrior who lines up fit from two wins between the flags. Kid 'z' play has been a standing dish round here in the past, having won five times in all, and will strip fitter for a belated return on the Flat 11-days ago. He should pick up the odd hunter chase this summer, but on this occasion we would rather side with Lord Who.
