In depth

Verdict

The market is sure to prove helpful in the finale, and any support for Fair Hills Baba would increase our confidence in him, while Sting, Salveo and Alderseed are all worth noting. Fair Hills Baba is a half-brother to Tribal Venture, so we can assume that he will be stepped up in trip and embark on a career over fences in time. There is little way of knowing whether he is going to prove the answer here obviously, but the stable has been in great form, and we shall give him the nod on that premise. Sting caught the eye on his Ayr debut in March, only weakening in the final two furlongs, while Salveo should at least be fit enough after two runs. Alderseed could be anything, and the betting is the only guide to the chances of the rest. A small wager is recommended on Fair Hills Baba.
