In depth
Verdict
The unexposed Russian Cafe caught the eye on her debut and, as she gets all the allowances today, she is selected in preference to fellow three-year-olds New York and Kamenka, who have both shown enough to suggest they are up to winning a race of this nature. The latter has already gone close on numerous occasions and she will be very hard to keep out of the frame in this company. However, like New York, she does have a tendency to find a few too good and looks vulnerable to a less exposed type. Which we expect will be Russian Cafe. The daughter of Stravinsky, who has changed hands twice for 50,000 guineas, has obviously impressed with her physique and shaped up nicely on her debut. That run will have taught her a lot, but in truth, she will not need to have done much home work to get the better of this mostly unreliable bunch.
