    Verdict

In what is quite a competitive handicap, we will side with the in-form Simianna over Dispol Katie, Enchantment, Bollin Janet and maybe Flashing Blade. The selection bounced back to form with a fast-finishing second at Chester last time and, raised just two pounds for that effort, looks set to go well again. Bandit Queen's form has tailed off since a promising Kempton win last July and Riva Royale's win last October came over seven furlongs on soft going. Consensus and Enchanted are among those that need best-yet efforts to win again but Flashing Blade has long-since given the impression that she has improvement to come. Considered good enough to run in a Classic Trial last season, she has the size and scope to make up into a nice filly and could yet go well. Dispol Katie was only just beaten in a valuable sales race at Doncaster last season and she too has to be high on the shortlist of possibles for this race, although Enchantment, who beat her a short head at Town Moor is now four pounds better off at the weights, so is fully entitled to respect too. Bollin Janet is also back to the mark from which she won last July at Haydock and, with blinkers fitted for the first time and Kieren Fallon booked, she also has to be considered. As we say, it's a fairly tricky affair, but Simianna, who deserves to win a race of this nature, gets the call.
