Verdict

A poor turnout for this novice's chase and barring accidents should go to Three Eagles, who lost nothing in defeat trying to give the useful Mounsey Castle 6lbs at Worcester. That form is head and shoulders above his rivals and it should be little more than a school around for him. Celioso was around 16lbs inferior to the selection over hurdles and has shown little aptitude for chasing in his two outings to date over the larger obstacles. Second spot looks booked for Carew, who has jumped round safely in his three outings too date, albeit slowly, but, if for any reason Three Eagles fails to complete, he looks the most likely to take advantage.
