    Verdict

Confidence is the key to sprinters, according to many trainers, so finding one that is holding its form well is no easy task here. Therefore, Aguila Loco heads the shortlist after a series of fair efforts and David Chapman's charge is marginally preferred over Lady Protector, Threat and the old men of the party, Mangus and Sotonian. The draw could have been kinder to the selection and he will have to work hard to repel this bunch today - the Milton Bradley-trained Threat for one can be given a good each way chance on the terms of the race - but Agulia Loco does act well at this course and will be suited by the drop to the minimum distance. Of the rest on the list of dangers: Mangus and Sotonian are hard to win with these days but will also be bearing down on the leaders at the finish and are worth including in any adventurous combinations for the forecast. Whereas Lady Protector put in her best effort for some time over course and distance last week and has claims if she is in the same mood. But Aguila Loco responded well for Andrew Webb when they were edged out over six furlongs here at the start of this month and the partnership are given one more chance to shine today over what could prove to be the optimum trip for the gelding.
