        Verdict

        All of these are a light of better days and Minas Girl is only a token choice in a race that can be compared to scattering a bag of numbered marbles in the search for a winner. Desert Light, the only recent winner in the line up, rates as a big danger and will no doubt be one of the more popular selections. However, he was allowed to slip his field when scoring at Lingfield in a claimer last time and his rivals are likely to be wise to the fact this time around. Therefore, he is placed on the list of dangers, along with: Redoubtable, who has been found an ideal opening to pit his wits against his younger rivals, Court Music, who drops back to her optimum trip and Sally Traffic, who hails from a shrewd yard and can be found a race now that she has plummeted in the ratings. Even Bold Effort, who has hardly beaten a horse home in his last 12 races, cannot be ruled out in a woeful finale. But Minas Girl has always travelled well in races before emptying close home and the return to sprinting could be the making of her at this level.
