Verdict
Roger Charlton is a profitable trainer to follow when he sends one to Southwell, so with that in mind, Parc Aux Boules is selected over the in-form Attorney and Shifty Night, who meet again after fighting out the finish of a Banded Stakes contest eighteen days ago. They also met at Southwell on Tuesday latter is fancied to reverse the form with his old rival on these terms and, with the headgear again applied to help, he could be a live-wire from the gates. However, like Attorney, he has never been the most reliable horse to follow and cannot be recommended with more than tepid confidence. Sharp Hat, on the other hand, has been consistent in claimers and does win in his turn. However, he has now gone 28 races without getting his head in front and remains a risky proposition for the time being. Polar Haze is an habitual underachiever that has been frustrating to side with in the past. Still, he does have a decent record at the course and holds each-way claims at this level. Nevertheless, Parc Aux Boules is far less exposed than any of the rest and it will be disappointing for the connections of this very lightly raced four-year-old if he is not up to winning a race of this nature.
