In depth

Verdict

Echostar, My Sheilas Dream and Shepherds Warning have shown ability in their outings to date, while the newcomer Vixens Daughter should be watched in the market. Preference is for Echostar to follow up a recent success. My Sheila's Dream landed a seller at Catterick on her debut, and justified favouritism at the same time. She was sold in the subsequent auction and represents new connections here. Out of a Zafonic mare, she handles fast ground well, but the manner of her Catterick success was only workmanlike and she is passed over. There is little to choose between Echostar and Shepherds Dream on the evidence of their meeting at Beverley, and Echostar is weighted to confirm the form on the same terms. Given that he had only the one previous run prior to beating Shepherds Dream, he may be capable of further improvement. Vixens Daughter hails from a sprinting family, and in this low grade affair, from a stable with an aptitude to produce speedy types, he is given the utmost respect, but Echostar has shown ability and gets the vote.
