In depth
Verdict
With little form to go on the betting could provide plenty of clues in this maiden stakes, but Takhmin has shown enough promise to warrant respect and could be good enough to take this at the main expense of Wedlock and Euklei. The selection looks the type who will improve with racing and with his yard in good form he looks the most plausible choice. He ran green on his racecourse bow but hinted that he was getting the hang of things as he stayed on inside the final furlong to finish ninth behind Lincolneurocruiser. If as expected he comes on for that run then he could be the one to follow. Wedlock ran well on his debut but he was a little disappointing last time, but if that run is ignored then he could be interesting. Euklei is a well-bred filly and hails from a yard beginning to find their form, but she may just need this her first run. Sir Anthony is another from a yard that is beginning to hit form so he may be worth a second look in the market, but for the winner we return to Takhmin.
