Verdict

Molinero won this a year ago and Jimmy Finn's charge is on a lower mark here though that's due to the fact he went up far too much for the victory so don't be surprised by a return to form. Banana Flambe finds himself on top weight despite never having won over fences and his best form appears to be on faster going. Massinis Adventure had been running poorly but that didn't prevent him being well supported at Clonmel last week and he duly obliged. He comes here with a 4lb penalty and, if in the same mood, has to be a threat to all though that victory was over 2m3f. ABARTA gained his first success over fences at Sligo last Wednesday for which he's been raised 6lb. He was well suited by the 3m trip and though up 6lb Johnny Burke's claim almost wipes out the extra and a follow-up looks on the cards. Vicalus found the going much too fast at Ballinrobe after a much better previous run at Roscommon so isn't without a chance.
