Verdict

Leading Contender isn't the most straight-forward of animals however he has the class to take this contest, although there are dangers lurking everywhere. Phillip Hobbs is persevering with this trip for his six-year-old despite him finding little last time out when push came to shove. The assumption is that he will be seen to better effect over fences in time, however a reproduction of his last run should see him go close in this standard-looking race. For All Mankind was outclassed in a Grade Two contest last month, but with his stable in excellent form, he cannot be written off. He is certainly interesting stepping up in trip (a trip that his dam won at) and first time blinkers could pay dividends today. Supreme Cara gets weight from the field but after two poor runs recently, that may not be enough to see her win today. Anglicisme's French form is difficult to equate but he showed he has ability when winning on his British debut, however he struggled under his penalty next time up for that reason he is hard to fancy. Ultimately we will give one more chance to Leading Contender to land the spoils in this Novices' hurdle.
