Verdict

Battalion has the past form to figure but has struggled back on the Flat since falling on his hurdling debut in February. LEADER’S LEGACY was progressing well last year and won a handicap at Haydock before failing to figure in the Britannia at Ascot in June. Gelded since and dropped in class for his reappearance, he’s preferred to the returning Valcartier, who also sports Godolphin’s colours for the Gosden yard. Twin Star looked high enough in the handicap last term and an apprentice’s allowance helps his cause today but Celebration Day and Swift Emperor may find life tough having won lower grade contests last season.
