Verdict

The eighth and final race on the card may go to Hajeer ahead of Intensity and Chaka Zulu. Peter Hiatt continues to do well with his small string and Hajeer has been a model of consistency for him, only failing to reach the frame twice in his last nine starts. The gelding is no stranger to Wolverhampton, having turned out here no less than 10 times in all. After scoring at Southwell in February, he had to contend with a 15lb penalty when finding Broughton Knows too good here, and ran no sort of race when failing to maintain earlier form with Kent back at Southwell. Given a break since, he will line up a fresh horse at least and gets the vote. Intensity is more race-fit but is hard to win with, but Chaka Zulu will prove troublesome if staying the trip. Any money for Mr Mischief should be noted, and the same applies to Charmante Femme, but, providing he is not too ring rusty, Hajeer can make the frame at least.
