London Welsh have signed former England U20 hooker Koree Britton.

Britton, who finished last season on a short-term contract at Northampton after five years with Gloucester, played for England at the U20 IRB Junior World Cups in 2011 and 2012.

He was also a member of the side which won the 2011 Six Nations Grand Slam and the 2012 Six Nations title.

London Welsh head coach Justin Burnell told the club’s website: “Koree will add some serious competition to an already talented group of hookers.

“He brings Premiership experience and has the size and physicality we are looking for in building our squad of forwards.

“He also possesses the attitude and approach which is consistent with the environment that we have strived to build at the Club, and we are delighted that he has decided to sign for us.”
