Back-rower to make the switch to Newcastle from Harlequins

Newcastle have agreed a deal to sign talented back-rower Chris York from Aviva Premiership champions Harlequins. York has made 28 appearances for Quins since graduating through their academy - however half of those appearances have come off the bench, with the likes of England captain Chris Robshaw, Nick Easter, Tom Guest, Maurie Fa'asavalu and Luke Wallace competing for a place in the back row. However York, who has also spent time on loan at Esher, will now be reunited with former Quins boss Dean Richards at the Falcons after he signed a two-year contract. Commercial director Duncan Edward said: "I am delighted that a young talent has joined us especially with his experience at Quins in their Championship-winning season." The 22-year-old is the eighth new signing at Kingston Park, with Rory Lawson, Scott MacLeod, Carlo del Fava, Tane Tu'ipulotu, Oliver Tomaszczyk, Alex Crockett and Andy Higgins all committing to the outfit. And the Falcons are set to announce further changes to both their coaching and playing staff in the coming weeks.
