Worcester lock Tevita Cavubati has been banned for nine weeks after being found guilty of a biting offence, while Leicester's Dom Barrow faces a two-week suspension.

Cavubati was charged with a breach of Law 10.4(m) during the Warriors' Aviva Premiership clash with London Irish on February 7.

The Fijian appeared at a disciplinary hearing in Bristol on Tuesday and afterwards was banned until April 12 as well as being fined £500.

In a statement on Worcester's website, Cavubati said: "I would like to apologise to all my team-mates, the coaches and supporters for the incident which occurred at the weekend.

"I was feeling suffocated while being held down. I was struggling to breathe and reacted in a way that I would never normally do.

"I sincerely apologise to Jebb Sinclair for this behaviour. It was uncharacteristic and this is not the type of player I am."
