Dragons put assistant coaching team in charge for next two games
Paul Turner has been suspended from his position as Newport Gwent Dragons head coach pending the outcome of a disciplinary hearing.
The Dragons gave no further details but confirmed Turner's assistant coaching team - Danny Wilson and Shaun Connor - will be in charge for the LV= Cup fixtures against Sale on January 28 and the Scarlets on February 6.
"Newport Gwent Dragons head coach Paul Turner has been relieved of his duties pending a hearing into disciplinary matters," read a club statement.
"As previously announced, the region's LV= Cup games against Sale Sharks this weekend and next weekend's game against the Scarlets will be led by the assistant coaching team as part of the region's ongoing policy of coach development.
"There will be no further comment on this issue until disciplinary proceedings have been completed."
Turner had recently come under fire for an outspoken response after flanker Dan Lydiate returned from Wales fitness tests having sustained an injury, leading the club to issue a statement on his behalf in which he apologised for the comments.
