Clermont winger Noa Nakaitaci will miss Saturday's Top 14 final against Stade Francais because of a knee injury, according to reports in France.

La Montagne newspaper reports the Fiji-born winger sustained a partial knee ligament rupture in his side’s 18-14 win over Toulouse in the semi-final last Saturday.

The injury comes as a major blow to the 24-year-old, who made his debut for France in this season's Six Nations tournament and was in line for selection for their World Cup squad.

Clermont are yet to confirm Nakaitaci's injury but said they would likely name a bigger squad than usual for selection in Saturday's final.

Nakaitaci, who has two caps for his country, was named in the 36-man preliminary France squad for the Rugby World Cup which takes place in England from September 18 to October 31.

A knee ligament rupture could rule the winger out eight weeks, meaning Nakaitaci will need to recover quickly to be available for Philippe Saint-Andre’s training camp.
