Verdict

Barry Hills has a good record in this and DIAMOND GEEZAH can enhance it further by taking care of Just For Leo, with Shafgaan and Mandy's Princess worth considering from good draws. Our selection has showed good speed in both starts to date, first when not beaten far in the Brocklesby and then when just denied at Nottingham last time. That last effort was a shade disappointing and the form of the Brocklesby has taken some knocks but he's got plenty of early dash and this race doesn't look strong, so hopefully he can tank across from stall nine and grab the rail. Just For Leo represents an emerging yard and this colt has landed a good draw in three. He's improved throughout both starts so far and is rated clear second best of those to have run, with the prospect of further improvement likely. Shafgaan comes from a yard whose two-year-olds seem to be coming to hand and again he's well drawn, which is all important here. He's out of a Night Shift mare and his progeny tend to progress with racing so the best is surely yet to come. Mandy's Princess was well backed to make a winning debut before disappointing but she's related to some decent winners, albeit over slightly further, and it's not unreasonable to expect a better show here particularly if she breaks smartly. Malpas Missile did well to take second when her stable were under a cloud but she's landed a tricky draw and will need to be smart to take this race from the most likely winner in our view, Diamond Geezah.
