Niran may be vulnerable off a revised rating and our vote instead goes to BULLWHIP ahead of Yaa Wayl and Fine Sight. John Gosden's colt only made his racecourse debut at the back end of March and did so in mightily impressive fashion, running out a ready seven-length winner of what is traditionally a warm maiden. The form of the race is yet to be seriously tested, but the visual impression this well-related sort made that day promised much before he then finished behind Dick Turpin when upped in grade. That form looks solid and although well beated there should be more to come now he tries handicap company. Yaa Wayl would've been of more interest had the handicapper not punished him for finishing second on his final start as a juvenile. Still, Michael Jarvis has his string in rude health and this son of Whipper can find the improvement required to feature. Fine Sight runs in the colours of Her Majesty The Queen and must be considered following a confidence-boosting maiden win and one of the horses in behind, Lay Claim, is highly thought of giving the form a decent look. He looks fairly treated off 81 and can go close if overcoming a poor draw. Signor Verdi won a maiden last time but with the market principles running below form he may be flattered and a better bet at prices would look to be Syrian, who had no excuse last time but is probably worthy of another chance as a well-bred potential improver. Jarrow was exposed last time and Our Joe Mac represents an in-form yard but needs to do better and this competitive handicap is taken to go to Bullwhip.
