In depth

Verdict

Rufus King has a much higher handicap rating than the rest of these having been raised 9lb for winning a nursery at Ascot. Several have to race from out of the weights as a consequence including stablemate Branscombe and Nottingham winner Holy Tiber. The latter won in soft going and it was testing ground when Gift In Time was runner-up on his debut having scored over 5f at Chester subsequently. Red Roman has faced a couple of tough tasks since winning at Newmarket in May while Carouse has a shout on his earlier second at Chester but a chance is taken LUIS FERNANDEZ handles the going and shows further progress now handicapping having landed a double in novice company with last month’s victory at Newbury.
