Verdict
A tricky nursery to start this eight race card and we will side with Miss Trial, with Tuvalu and Verbier put forward as the main dangers. Michael Jarvis's filly has put in solid displays in all four maidens to date and doesn't look overburdened for her handicap debut. Her most recent effort at Redcar behind Desert Imp was particularly promising and if she handles this Polytrack surface she will be difficult to beat. Verbier got the better of some decent horses when landing a Beverley maiden last month, and wasn't disgraced in a competitive handicap at Goodwood next time. As with the selection we don't know how she will handle the surface, but her ability is there for all to see. Tuvalu hails from the Andrew Balding yard that likes to plunder Lingfield prizes, and this son of Dashing Blade has to be considered following an excel;lent third in a Windsor nursery. Heartsonfire is another worthy of respect, but in a very open affair, Miss Trial just edges the decision.
