Verdict
Another puzzle for punters, but Pure Mischief holds strong claims and gets the verdict over Khanjar and Juste Pour L'Amour. Connor Dore's five-year-old came to grief over the jumps at Warwick last week, and hopefully his confidence hasn't been dented. His course and distance form is as good as anything else on show, he put up a decent performance when chasing home Sharp Needle last month and a repeat of that run could be good enough here. Khanjar is making all-weather debut following some good performances in better company and should go close despite top-weight. Juste Pour L'Amour is also trying this surface for the first time and has to be considered a threat on his recent run behind Mr Velocity at Musselburgh. Locally trained Ali Bruce also deserves a quick mention, but if Pure Mischief hasn't been affected by that recent tumble he will take all the beating.
