In depth

Verdict

A wide open bumper where it looks best to concentrate on those from yards who do well in this type of contest and Blackergreen fits the bill. Mary Reveley's charge is likely to have been well galloped for his racecourse debut and will surely strip fit enough to do himself justice. Reveley supplies plenty of bumper winners and this is not a strong race, so she can hit the mark again. Tom George sends point-to-point winner Eggmount on the long trip north and he is another who can produce winners in this sphere. With that pointing experience in the bag, fitness should be assured and Eggmount can be the one to give the selection most to do. Bywell Beau was well beaten on his Huntingdon debut the other week but is entitled to come on a fair bit for that outing, and can challenge for the frame, while Dunsemore is another from a yard who can win these contests and he can also improve on a heavy ground Newcastle debut and go well. For the selection, however, we return to Blackergreen.
