Verdict

Quantica was well held behind Petite Mac at Carlisle last week and may again have to settle for a minor role behind Neville Bycroft's mare, who gets the vote ahead of Tequila Sheila. The selection could not have won any more easily at Carlisle and was good value for her four-length success for which a 6lb penalty should not prevent her from following up. California Laws is less exposed than most of these and with the yard of David Barron in good form lack of a recent run should not be of concern so he has to be respected. Union Jack Jackson has been running well on the all-weather but this looks tougher, while Rectangle has a long absence to overcome and may be best watched on his reappearance. Tequila Sheila has slipped to a fair mark after a disappointing campaign on the sand and is another to consider but Petite Mac has an obvious chance and she gets the vote.
