In depth

Verdict

Sphinx will like the cut in the ground but he looks high enough in the weights and so we will side with Candle ahead of Velvet Heights. Henry Candy's runner has only won once in eight starts but should relish the return to this trip as she was outpaced last time out over a mile and a half. She handles cut in the ground and looks poised for a big run. They All Laughed is very consistent and looks to have stamina as his main forte so has claims, whilst Sphinx ran well in defeat last time out and handles the ground well. Unfortunately he may just be too high in the weights at the moment. Dual performer The Grey Man could go well at a decent price and should be watched in the betting for support whilst Pinch Of Salt should improve for his recent outing. Velvet Heights is better on the all-weather than on the turf so is again passed over and we will return to Candle as the selection.
