In depth

Verdict

A competitive opener here where it may pay to side with Albareq. The colt improved on his first two outings to take his maiden at Newmarket last time and over the same trip and ground, he can continue on the upgrade here. One who will also be a warm order is John Gosden-trained Choir Master. The Red Ransom gelding came good at Salisbury last time and with his yard hitting form he can give the selection most to do. Others for the short list are Amanda Perrett's Cat Ona High, who followed up his Leicester maiden win with another decent effort in defeat at Newbury last time, and Statement, who ran well enough on his debut at Sandown to suggest there will be more to come here.
