Huddersfield centre or second rower Michael Lawrence has committed himself to his home-town club by signing a contract extension that will keep him with the Giants until the end of the 2019 season.

The versatile 25-year-old one-club man is just four appearances away from bringing up 200 in the top flight after coming through Huddersfield's academy.

"I had no hesitation in staying at the club when the offer came and for some it can be a worrying time if you are out of contract at the end of the season but thankfully I've no such worries and can keep working towards our goal of
bringing silverware to the club," Lawrence said.

"He has been a virtual fixture in the side ever since I have been here and rightly so, as he is a very consistent, hard-working player and exactly the type every coach would want in the squad which is why it's great he's committed to
staying here longer term."
