Grant Gilchrist signs new contract with Edinburgh

Edinburgh Rugby today confirmed that lock Grant Gilchrist has committed his future to the club until the end of May 2017.
Gilchrist has spent his whole professional career with the club and was more than happy to play another season for Edinburgh, a club he clearly holds close to his heart.
"I'm delighted to be staying and really excited about next season," he said.
"This is the club I have grown up with, I care a lot about the club and I really believe we've got the players and the culture at the club to have prolonged success."
Gilchrist has captained his country on multiple occasions and won 12 caps for the national side but has reiterated his desire to play for Edinburgh again following a recent injury.
"I'm really hungry to play for Edinburgh again and looking forward to giving my all," he added.
Edinburgh head coach Alan Solomons said: "It is fantastic news for the club that Gilco [Gilchrist] has extended his stay with us."
"He is a top flight player with International experience who adds huge value both on and off the field.
Gilchrist's continuation for Edinburgh brings the total signings for the club to 22 for next season, additional to those already committed to Edinburgh until the end of May 2017 and beyond.
Edinburgh take on Zebre at Murrayfield on Friday in match that will have a huge impact on the club's fight for a position in the top six of the Guinness PRO12 that would secure them a place in the European Rugby Champions Cup next season.
