Thinus Delport will be back at Kingsholm with South Africa Legends as they take on Gloucester Heroes in a one-off match on Sunday.

The game, which forms part of Gloucester's celebration of 125 years at Kingsholm, sees former British and Irish Lions such as Shane Williams and Dafydd James take on the likes of World Cup winners John Smit and Butch James.

An Anglo-Welsh Cup winner with the Cherry and Whites in 2003, Delport said he was forced to choose between the two teams.

"I initially thought I might play one half for each team," said the Sky Sports pundit. "But then it was pointed out to me over the weekend that if I did that I would get beaten up twice, so I had to rethink it and I've decided to play for the SA boys.

Delport is looking forward to Sunday's game, which he says will feature some familiar faces in the SA Legends side.

"A lot of the South African players who are coming over for the game have had experience playing in the Premiership.

"Butch James spent some of his career at Bath and John Smit had a stint with Saracens. Guys like Rudi Keil and Delarey du Preez both played for Gloucester so they will feel right at home.

"It's going to be a fantastic game, and the famous Kingsholm atmosphere is going to add to it. Playing in front of the shed makes for a very memorable day, so the guys coming over here are in for a great rugby treat."

The Gloucester Heroes have brought in 2003 World Cup winner Neil Back as a coach, while some of Delports former team-mates such as Junior Paramore will line up alongside a few surprise additions.

"It's not just Gloucester boys who are playing for them, Keith Senior is a former rugby league player who is switching codes for the game, so it's going to be a great festival of rugby on display."

Gloucester Community Fund and Rugby for Heroes will both benefit from the the charity match.
