James Stannard lost a tooth live on air in a thumping tackle

Australia star James Stannard lost a tooth live on air during day two of the London Sevens at Twickenham.

With Australia trailing 31-7 against the United States, Stannard suffered injury when attempting to tackle Martin Iosefo.

Stannard's tooth could be seen flying into the air and he then asked referee Craig Joubert if he could mind it for him until the game was over!

Joubert refused, with a member of the Australian management putting the tooth in his pocket while Stannard finished the game.

Australia did score a late try but it was scant consolation as the USA ran out 31-14 quarter-final winners.
