England have lost a key player ahead of the Women’s Rugby World Cup final with full-back Danielle Waterman ruled out of the match against New Zealand.
Waterman suffered a concussion in the first half of England's semi-final win against France on Tuesday.
The Bristol player was assessed for a head injury, and will no longer play a part in Saturday's final.
England are the defending champions, but now face four-time winners New Zealand without the only member of their squad to have started every match at the World Cup.
England Women's head coach Simon Middleton said: "It's disappointing to lose Danielle ahead of final. She has delivered outstanding performances throughout the tournament and has been a highly-valued member of the squad.
"However, we have a number of strong options available to us as we begin preparing for Saturday's final against New Zealand."
