Skipper to face hearing on April 1

London Wasps number-eight Lawrence Dallaglio has been cited for allegedly striking an opponent in the EDF Energy Cup semi-final against Leicester on Saturday. The incident, a breach of Law 10.4(a), will see the World Cup winner appear at a Rugby Football Union disciplinary hearing on Tuesday April 1, following the report initiated by the independent citing officer. The case will be heard by a disciplinary panel chaired by His Honour Judge Jeff Blackett at the London Bloomsbury Holiday Inn. Leicester beat their fierce rivals 34-24. The two teams meet again on Saturday, live on Sky Sports. Wasps skipper Dallaglio will be available for the trip to Welford Road, but any subsequent ban next week would limit the number of games he plays before his retirement at the end of the season. Wasps have seven regular Premiership matches left this season. Striking carries a recommended low-end sanction of a two-week ban, with the top end starting at eight weeks.
