South African hoping to be called up by Johnson
South African flanker Hendre Fourie has admitted he would be "honoured" to play for England.
The 29-year-old, who played for the Cheetahs before moving to Rotherham and then Leeds, qualifies for England under the IRB residency ruling.
And having seen New Zealand-born Riki Flutey go on to play for Martin Johnson's team, Fourie is hoping to follow suit.
Fourie, who was the man-of-the-match in Leeds' 9-9 draw against Newcastle, said: "I've qualify through residency and I would definitely play if they wanted me.
"South Africa didn't want me when I played there, so if England selected me I'd be honoured.
"I've signed the papers to say am I now an English player and not a foreigner in the team.
"If they want to pick me, they can and I'd certainly be keen to play."
