Leicester fly-half ends six months on the sidelines
England fly-half Toby Flood admitted it is "great to be back" after he made his return to action for Leicester from an Achilles injury.
Flood ended six months on the sidelines by coming off the bench in the 29-20 victory over the Dragons in the LV= Cup.
The 24-year-old slotted over two penalties after replacing Jeremy Staunton and even went close to scoring a try.
And having got just over 20 minutes under his belt, Flood admitted he was pleased to be back in action.
"It was great to be back. It was lung-burning and difficult getting your head around all of the calls again but the fun part was running around, enjoying it and playing with the guys," Flood told the
Leicester Mercury.
"I felt fine with regards to my Achilles. When I got into my stride, I didn't even think about it during the game.
"I felt confident and being involved in the game made me think about it even less."
