Former captain Marco Bortolami has been recalled to Italy's training squad for the forthcoming RBS Six Nations.

Gloucester lock named in 30-man training squad

Former captain Marco Bortolami has been recalled to Italy's training squad for the forthcoming RBS Six Nations. The Gloucester lock was forced to miss the November Tests after dislocating his shoulder - however he has been named in the 30-man squad after recovering. Influential full-back Andrea Masi and fly-half Andrea Marcato have also recovered from injury to take part in the sessions, however captain Sergio Parisse will miss the tournament following knee ligament surgery. Coach Nick Mallett has called up two uncapped players, with Rovigo fly-half Riccardo Bocchino and Parma flanker Francesco Minto given the chance to shine. Italy kick-off their Six Nations campaign on February 6 when they travel to Dublin to face Ireland.
