Newly-retired lock to help coach academy squad

Harlequins second row Jim Evans has agreed to join the club's academy coaching staff after being forced to retire. Evans announced he was hanging up his boots after failing to overcome a chronic shoulder injury. However he will now team up with Tony Diprose and Howard Graham to help bring the next generation of Quins stars through. "I am delighted that Jim will be joining us for the rest of this season and, hopefully, for longer," Diprose told the club's official site. "He will be able to help in the development of our academy group by offering them the benefit of his playing experiences, whilst also developing his coaching skills. "I am particularly looking forward to him working with the three very talented second row forwards that Harlequins academy have in the England U20 and U18 squads and mentoring them in their development."
