Former England U20s No.8 agrees switch from Wasps

Newport Gwent Dragons have swooped to sign former England Under-20s No.8 Hugo Ellis from Wasps. Ellis had represented Wales at Under-16s before switching allegiances to England - however the 22-year-old has now set his sights on forcing his way into Warren Gatland's squad. And Dragons rugby manager Robert Beale believes the signing of Ellis, whose dad played for Wales Schools and Neath, is good news for both the region and the Wales team. "It's a boost for the region to have a player of Hugo's potential joining us at the Dragons," Beale told the official Dragons site. "His arrival is in keeping with our desire to repatriate Welsh players to the region and continuing to build on our squad of young talented players. "Hugo has impeccable age-grade qualifications and it is good news for both the region and the national side that he has chosen to pursue his senior rugby career in Wales."
